When it comes to shopping in India, Delhi is the place.
The biggest and most popular market , Dilli Haat has been specifically set up by the government to provide a platform for artisans to come and sell their crafts.

The DILLI HAAT provides the ambience of a traditional Rural Haat or village market.

Did you know that the stalls in Dilli Haat are on a rotational basis wherein craftsman from all over the country come and exhibit their art every 15 days. So when I went, the theme was Bihar.

Now, coming back…why I liked Dilli Haat? Let’s be honest, social media has made this place extremely popular…but why?? Let’s see…………………

1.Locating this place is extremely easy and reaching it is even more easier. It takes exactly three minutes to reach Dilli Haat from INA Metro by walk.

2. This place is all about arts, crafts, culture ,clothing and jewellery. There are so many options and you just cannot resist purchasing.

Whenever we need beautiful juttis or daily-wear kolhapuris, it is Dilli Haat. While I admit that the footwear here might be a little more expensive than the ones you get at Sarojini nagar, you still have more options available and the Dilli Haat footwear also lasts longer with better quality.

Dilli Haat is a paradise full of ethnic clothes and cloth material.

3. The best part, regional food stalls.
From Nagaland to Tamil Nadu. Most of the states have their stalls here with food of authentic taste!

You can also savour the inimitable flavors of the delightful local foods from the various regions of India be it the momos from Sikkim, parathas from Punjab, Kebabs from Jammu, Pooranpoli from Maharastra or the Gujrati Dhokla. You want only Dosais? That option is available too.

Try out the Bhel Puri there that’ll leave you a happy soul after all the shopping.

Notes: Please carry an umbrella if you are going in summer and lots and lots of water. The heat is real.
