MAANASA’S CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES
Yields 6 cupcakes
INGREDIENTS
- Wheat Flour – 3/4 cup
- Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Cocoa Powder – 1 tablespoon
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Baking Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla Extract – 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter – 1/4 cup
- Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees for 10 mins.
- Sift together all the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder,sugar, salt, and cocoa powder in mixing bowl.
- Add butter, water and vanilla extract and beat in medium speed until smooth. This should take a couple of minutes. Scrape the sides to make sure everything is mixed in the mixing bowl.
- Fill each cupcake liners 2/3 full.
- Bake for 20-25 mins or until toothpick comes out clean when poked in.Each oven is different so a few minutes more or less may be needed.
- Remove and allow it to cool completely.
FROSTING INGREDIENTS
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup
- Softened Butter – 1/5 cup
- Vanilla Extract – 1/2 teaspoon
- Milk-1 or 2 tablespoon
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix powdered sugar and butter with spoon or electric mixer on low speed. Stir in vanilla and 1 tablespoon of the milk.
- If frosting is too thick, beat in more milk, a few drops at a time. If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar.
- Frost your cupcakes!!
